Expression of interest in presenting

The organising committee for the DATTA WA State Conference 2024 is inviting submissions for lectures and workshop-style presentations to be considered for the conference program. Presenters are welcome to submit multiple presentations in different formats.

Submission guidelines
  • Submissions must be original works written in English and should not exceed 300 words.

  • Submissions are to be text only (any graphs, figures, diagrams, images must not be included).

  • The presenting author must submit the presentation text directly into the text box within the submission portal.

  • There are separation sections in the submission process to enter the presentation title, author names and affiliations.

  • All abbreviations must be spelled out on first use.

  • It is essential to thoroughly check the submission for spelling and grammar, as successful submissions will be included in the conference documentation and website marketing.

Please note the organising committee will make the final decision about workshop/presentation allocation based on topics and timings for the conference.

Presentation content

Presentations can be about products and services but must not a sales pitch. We are seeking presenters who have a knowledge of contemporary trends, features, benefits and methods to incorporate into Design and Technology classrooms and promote the knowledge and skills of teachers. Sales and promotion of products in particular can be done through our trade exhibition.

Presentation format

During the submission process you will be able to select your preferred format for the presentation (30 or 60 minutes) or workshop (60 or 120 minutes). While we will endeavour to provide you with your request, factors of timings and room availability means we cannot guarantee the outcome.

Presentation delivery

The program will be held in person at Edith Cowan University (ECU) Mt Lawley Campus, Perth. It will not be live streamed or recorded.

Editing your submission

You will be able to save a draft and return for editing before completing your submission. Once you have submitted, you will not be able to edit it.

Acknowledgment

You will receive an automated response to say that we have received your submission. If you don’t receive this email please contact DATTA WA via officemanager@datta.wa.edu.au

Head to the presentation submission portal and follow the instructions to complete the process. We look forward to seeing your submission!

Notifications of acceptance will be emailed out on 25 June 2024.

To ensure that the presentation is included in the program, successful presenters must have registered for the conference by 30 August 2024. If not registered by this date, the submission may be withdrawn.
