Training Providers for Currency Training in Workshop Safety

Hi DATTA Members,

I'm looking for some local WA providers for a refresher course in workshop safety on power tools specifically for woodworking. If you know of any recommendations please reply.

There is a group over east who has quoted me around $4,000 due to travel. If there are enough schools who are interested, I'd be happy to share the cost. The training is about 6 hours and we would be happy to host it at our school.

Great idea

I’ve found that connecting with other schools isn’t always easy, so I just wanted to check what kind of discussions are okay in this group. For example, can we share things like teaching strategies, lesson ideas, material suppliers, or contacts for setting up programs?

Lucas go for it, this is a place for all inquiry, if it falls outside of scope admin will look to clean up. All your points would be great discussion starters.

CEWA Schools Purchasing System

Query from a member -

All Catholic Education schools have now had to go to a purchasing system where all suppliers need to be “Onboard” a list purchase from.

In the past we have done a lot of online ordering for our department, especially when it comes to electrical componentry. For example we bought 400 servos for $600 at the end of last year however if we purchased from a Zycus approved supplier such as Jaycar, the same amount of servos would cost us $4400. I was hoping to reach out to some other CEWA schools that run some Robotics/engineering/electronics courses and see how they have got around this and where they have found to be affordable places to purchase from.

Can you use the College credit card to make these purchases?
